Prayagraj – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by his cabinet of 54 ministers, took a holy dip at the Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. The event marks a historic convergence of spirituality and governance as the state cabinet met for the second time at the sacred gathering.

The Maha Kumbh, one of the largest religious events in the world, served as the backdrop for this unique initiative, blending spiritual devotion with policy deliberation. Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Kumar Pathak, along with other senior ministers, arrived in Prayagraj on Tuesday to prepare for the occasion.

Cabinet Meeting at Triveni Complex

The state cabinet convened at the Triveni Complex in Aral at 12 PM, shifting the venue from the Mela Authority Auditorium to ensure a seamless experience for the millions of devotees present. The meeting aimed to discuss and approve key proposals impacting the state, reaffirming the government’s commitment to efficient governance amidst the spiritual festivity.

Holy Bath and Rituals

Following the meeting, the ministers, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, boarded boats from the Aral VIP ghat to the Sangam. There, they performed traditional rites and took a ceremonial bath in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

Local MPs and MLAs from Prayagraj and surrounding areas also joined the group in the spiritual proceedings. The ritual highlighted the state government’s dedication to preserving cultural and religious traditions.

Enhanced Security Measures

To ensure smooth conduct, a robust security apparatus was put in place. District Magistrates from four districts, including Prayagraj, were deployed alongside 55 magistrates and specially assigned officers. Judges and departmental officials were tasked with overseeing the arrangements, from the Sangam bath to the afternoon prasad distribution.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Prayagraj around 11 AM via helicopter, landing at the DPS ground helipad before proceeding to the Triveni Complex.

Spiritual Governance on Display

The Yogi administration’s cabinet meeting at Maha Kumbh underscores a unique blend of spiritual and administrative responsibility, echoing a similar gathering held during the 2019 Kumbh Mela. By participating in this sacred ritual, the government showcased its cultural commitment while fostering solidarity among its leadership.

The Maha Kumbh continues to attract millions, with the UP government setting benchmarks for crowd management, infrastructure, and governance during the festival.
